1. Should I choose 99.5% Alumina or Zirconia for my thrust washers?
For most high-speed, high-temperature, and corrosive environments, 99.5% Alumina provides excellent wear resistance and cost-effectiveness. However, if your application involves high impact forces or heavy dynamic loads, Zirconia (3Y-TZP) is recommended due to its superior fracture toughness and impact resistance.

2. Can you achieve precise thickness and flatness tolerances?
Yes. While ceramics shrink during sintering, we use precision double-surface diamond grinding and lapping processes after sintering. We can achieve flatness tolerances of ≤0.005mm and highly polished surface finishes (Ra ≤0.2) to ensure a perfect seal and ultra-low friction.

3. How can I get a quotation for the ceramic shims/washers?
Please kindly send us your CAD drawing (or PDF) with technical requirements, tolerance limits, and demand quantity. If you don't have a drawing, you can courier your existing samples to us. We will evaluate and quote our best price within 24 hours.

4. What is the lead-time for samples and batch orders?
If we have the required molds/sizes in stock, samples are free and ship quickly. For custom sizes requiring new tooling, sample production takes about 18 days. For batch production, the lead time is around 25 days. Please note courier fees for samples are collected at destination.
