Ceramic pulley lagging is a specialized wear-resistant surface applied to the head or tail pulleys of conveyor belts. It consists of a durable rubber sheet (the "lagging") into which hundreds of small, ultra-hard ceramic tiles or inserts are vulcanized.
The primary purpose is to dramatically increase the friction between the conveyor pulley and the belt, which improves traction and prevents belt slippage. It also protects the pulley shell from wear and abrasion.
